- Guilin, also named Forest of Sweet Osmanthus, is a place for
tourists. For centuries the landscape has inspired poets and artists: limestone peaks rise
magically from the mist shrouded emerald of the rice fields; lazy rivers wind through the
idyllic countryside, all these give the ethereal images of Guilin.
